2Baba, Annie Split Over Lifestyle Differences – Baba Fryo

Veteran singer Friday Igweh, fondly called Baba Fryo, has offered his thoughts on why 2Baba and Annie Idibia’s marriage failed.

He believes their careers in the entertainment industry played a key role in the split.

During a recent appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast, Baba Fryo spoke in Pidgin, suggesting the couple struggled because they operated in the same field, which often makes maintaining a stable relationship difficult.

He explained that in traditional settings, a woman is seen as the balancing presence in a household, especially when the man deals with certain habits.

But according to him, this dynamic becomes complicated when both spouses behave in similar ways.

Baba Fryo also shared that he has a long-standing connection to 2Baba’s current partner, Natasha.

He claimed to have known her since she was a child, recalling that he once carried her on his lap when she was three.

“2Face and his wife, two of them, I will say they didn’t manage themselves well. They are both entertainers. Annie is an actress, and 2Face is a musician.

“Let us put this together. In marriage, when the couple are out for fun, it is the woman’s duty to take care of the man.

“When a man is drinking, the woman will be watching him, and if he is drinking too much, the woman will calm him.”

He continued: “But if you marry a woman who also drinks, when you’re both drunk, who will take the other home?

“When a man sees that, he will become insecure in the marriage. And when he goes out and sees another woman with a different attitude.

“I’m not saying this scenario is a good one, because even 2Face’s current lover, Natasha, is someone I have known.”

The couple’s breakup became public on the 26th of January, 2025. 2Baba confirmed via Instagram that they had been separated for a while and were moving forward with divorce proceedings.

Annie Macaulay later acknowledged the split and confirmed that the legal process was ongoing.
