The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Thursday, the 14th of August, 2025, began moving sensitive materials to various local government areas in Edo State in preparation for Saturday’s by-elections.
The items were distributed from the Benin branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, under the watch of political party representatives and civil society groups.
Edo State Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Prof. Anugbum Onuoha, told reporters that the commission invited all political parties taking part in the polls to guarantee openness in the process.
