Nollywood veteran and activist, Charly Boy, has shared a moving family reflection that has stirred conversations about sacrifice, values, and the importance of love in Nigerian households.
Posting via his official X account on Thursday, Charly Boy recalled how his father never imposed career choices on his children, though he quietly hoped they would pursue law. While one of his sons followed that path and became a lawyer, Charly Boy chose a different career, a decision that initially caused tension but ultimately led him to fulfil his passion.
“Decades ago, my younger brother was called to the Bar. I was in Bwari for his call to Bar,” he wrote, reflecting on the unity and sacrifices that have shaped his family.
He also revisited his late father’s enduring words of wisdom: “Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile,” and “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

Charly Boy urged Nigerians not to neglect their aged parents, encouraging families to hold on to love and compassion even in difficult times.
