‘We Will Continue to Serve You,’ Fubara Assures Rivers People

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has promised to keep working for the people after receiving what he described as a humbling and heroic welcome on his return to Port Harcourt.

The governor, who was greeted by a massive crowd at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa in Ikwerre Local Government Area on Friday, September 19, said the warm reception was proof of the strong bond between his administration and the people.

“I know everyone wants to hear something from me. In fact, you expected it when I landed at the Airport,” Fubara said, acknowledging the excitement that greeted his arrival.

He expressed gratitude to Rivers people for their show of love and support.

“Let me first of all appreciate the wonderful people of Rivers State. I’m really humbled by what I saw at the Airport. I was briefed on some photographs of what happened here yesterday. That reception really humbled me,” he said.

Fubara stressed that the celebration was not only about his return but a reaffirmation of the people’s confidence in his government.

“It showed love, confidence and solidarity. I want to say that it is not just the celebration, the massive reception by the number of people who came out to celebrate, but the display and reaffirmation of the bond between this government and the people that we are serving,” he stated.

The governor assured that his administration would remain committed to policies that reflect the people’s trust.

“I want to assure you that we will by the grace of God, continue to do those things that has made you people love us. I want to appreciate everyone and to say that we love you but God love you more,” Fubara added.
