Stolen Hilux Found: Police Arrest Kano Deputy Governor’s Driver

The police have successfully recovered the Toyota Hilux that was stolen from the convoy of the Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu AbdulSalam Gwarzo, following a quick operational response.

This development was confirmed in a statement released on Wednesday, the 12th of November, 2025, by Ibrahim Garba Shu’aibu, the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor.

The Deputy Governor’s Office reported that the recovery took place in the early hours of the day, attributing the success to a swift and coordinated operation carried out by various security operatives.

In connection with the theft, a suspect has been apprehended. The suspect was identified as a permanent and pensionable driver and is currently assisting the police with their ongoing investigation. The Deputy Governor’s Office characterized the driver’s action as a clear breach of trust.

The Deputy Governor’s Office was quick to commend the prompt response and professionalism demonstrated by the police and other security agencies who facilitated the recovery of the vehicle.

Concluding the announcement, the statement included a message to the public, advising them to: “The general public is hereby advised to remain calm and rest assured that the security of lives and property remains the top priority of the Kano State Government, both within and outside the Government House,” the statement added.
