Adeleke Cleared as Sole Accord Candidate for Osun 2026 Governorship

Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has been officially cleared to contest the Accord Party governorship primary in Osun State, scheduled for Wednesday, December 10, 2025, in Osogbo, the state capital.

The development was announced by Elder Ibe Thankgod, Chairman of the Screening Committee and National Organising Secretary of Accord Party, who confirmed that the governor met all the requirements for nomination and participation.

“After reviewing all submitted documents, the committee has cleared Governor Adeleke as the sole aspirant for the party’s governorship ticket,” Elder Thankgod stated.

While the clearance confirms Adeleke’s eligibility, party officials noted it does not constitute an automatic endorsement.

They assured that the primary process would remain transparent, credible, and in full compliance with the Electoral Act and the party constitution.

Since his election in 2022, Adeleke has remained a key figure in Osun politics, and his clearance signals his formal entry into the race for the 2026 governorship.

Accord Party said it would provide details of the primary timetable and procedures to members and the public in due course.
