An unspecified number of travelers have reportedly been killed following a suspected bomb explosion along the Yar’Tasha–Dansadau road in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, Yazid Abubakar, reportedly confirmed the incident to newsmen on Saturday.
The PPRO said, “I can confirm that there was a blast in that area but the incident just happened. I can’t tell you details yet. I will update you later.”

However, all efforts by First Daily correspondent to reach Abubakar proved abortive as he was not responding to messages via his X handle.
Videos that have gone viral online, and were cited by our correspondent, captured the alleged aftermath of the incident and travelers fleeing the scene in panic.
