FRSC Links Joshua Crash to Excessive Speed, Wrongful Overtaking

The Federal Road Safety Corps has attributed the motor accident involving heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua to excessive speed and wrongful overtaking.

In a statement issued on Monday, December 29, 2025, by the Ogun State Sector Command of the corps in Abeokuta, FRSC said preliminary findings showed that traffic violations played a major role in the crash.

The accident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Sagamu axis, when the vehicle conveying Joshua reportedly lost control while attempting to overtake at high speed before colliding with a stationary truck.
