A former aspirant for the position of National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chukwuebuka Obidike, has denied reports circulating on social media that he plans to contest for the office at the party’s forthcoming national convention.
Speaking in an interview with our correspondent on Saturday, Obidike described the reports as misleading and unfounded, stressing that he has no intention of seeking the position.
“I have not declared, nor do I have any intention of contesting for the position of APC National Youth Leader at the 2026 national convention. Any report suggesting otherwise is completely misleading,” he said.
The APC chieftain noted that his decision not to contest should not be interpreted as a withdrawal from party activities or a lack of commitment to the ruling party. He explained that he is currently focused on strengthening his business interests while continuing to support the party in other ways.
Obidike also said he has not endorsed any aspirant for the youth leader position, adding that the process should be open, fair and guided by the party’s constitution and principles of internal democracy.

The Executive Director of Clarivo Holdings Limited stated that he remains available to serve the party in any other capacity if called upon.
He further urged party leaders, delegates and members to prioritise unity and discipline as preparations for the national convention intensify, describing cohesion as vital to the APC’s strength and electoral success.
Obidike also called on youths within the party to remain constructive, disciplined and supportive of the party’s leadership, noting that meaningful engagement is key to sustaining the APC’s vision at both national and grassroots levels.
