Airport Police Elevate 40 Inspectors To ASP Rank In Lagos Ceremony

The Airport Police Command on Tuesday decorated 40 inspectors who were recently promoted to the substantive rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP II).

The promotion ceremony, held at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos, was led by the Commissioner of Police, Ogunbode Olufunke, and attended by senior officers, personnel, family members, and well-wishers of the newly promoted officers.

Ogunbode congratulated the officers on their promotion, describing it as a reward for years of dedication, discipline, and hard work. She also praised the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for his commitment to personnel welfare and timely career progression.

The commissioner urged the newly promoted officers to embrace their new responsibilities with professionalism and integrity, noting that higher expectations now accompany their elevated status. She emphasised the need for officers to remain vigilant and committed to protecting lives and property, particularly within the sensitive aviation environment.

Olufunke reaffirmed the command’s commitment to excellence, discipline, and improved service delivery. ASP Mohammed Adeola, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, said the ceremony was part of efforts to boost morale and enhance performance among personnel.

“Embrace the responsibilities of your new rank with renewed professionalism, integrity, and leadership. Remain diligent, law-abiding, and committed to the protection of lives and property, particularly within the sensitive aviation environment and its adjoining areas,” Olufunke said.
