The Board of Trustees of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), under the leadership of Adolphus Wabara, has constituted a 13-member interim National Working Committee (NWC) to steer the affairs of the party.
Wabara explained that the decision aligns with the party’s constitution, following a ruling by the Supreme Court of Nigeria which nullified the Ibadan Convention, thereby creating a leadership vacuum within the PDP.
The newly formed interim committee is headed by former National Chairman Tanimu Turaki.
The resolution was reached during a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting convened by the Turaki-led faction of the party at the Yar’Adua Centre on Monday.

Several key stakeholders were present at the meeting, including Seyi Makinde, former Niger State governor Babangida Muazu, ex-Minister of Information Jerry Gana, and former Minister of Women Affairs Zainab Maina, among others.
The development marks a significant step in addressing the party’s internal leadership crisis, with further details expected to emerge in the coming days.
