2027: Ondo Ex-Lawmakers Back APC NASS Flag Bearers

The Forum of Former Members of the Ondo State House of Assembly has endorsed the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for the National Assembly in the 2027 general election, urging party members to unite behind the ruling party.

The endorsement was announced in a communiqué issued after the forum’s meeting in Akure on Friday, July 3, 2026, and signed by its Chairman, Olugbenga Araoyinbo, and Public Relations Officer, Tayo Abidakun.

The former lawmakers said the endorsement reflected their confidence in the party’s candidates and reaffirmed their commitment to the APC’s electoral success.

They praised President Bola Tinubu for his leadership and commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, while commending APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the National Working Committee and the National Executive Committee for conducting what they described as a credible National Assembly primary election.

The forum also applauded the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his role in strengthening the APC and promoting unity in Ondo State.

It also backed the APC leadership’s decisions on the candidates’ list, criticised protests over the outcome of the primaries and urged aggrieved aspirants to embrace reconciliation in the interest of party unity.

The former lawmakers further called on victorious candidates to reach out to their former rivals and supporters, stressing that inclusion and cohesion would be critical to the party’s success.

They urged APC members, youths, women and supporters across the state to remain united ahead of the 2027 general election, with the goal of securing the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and victory for all APC National Assembly candidates.
