An emotional exchange between late Yoruba film veteran Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, and his daughter, Kira Taiwo, has emerged a day after his death at 66.
Kira shared the conversation dated July 26, on her Instagram Story on Monday, August 24, 2026. The exchange showed Ogogo comforting his daughter after she became distressed over his health.
He urged her to stay strong, saying seeing her and her sisters smile gave him strength, and asked her not to cry. He also encouraged her to trust in Allah, assuring her that he was strong and would be fine, Insha Allah.
Kira responded by reaffirming her faith and telling her father she loved him. Ogogo replied affectionately, calling her his princess.

The exchange surfaced weeks after Ogogo’s family disclosed that he was battling stage-four cancer. Kira and her sister, Lima Taiwo, had appealed for assistance after his condition worsened and chemotherapy could no longer continue.
Ogogo died at about 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2026. His death was announced by family members and colleagues, including veteran actor Jide Kosoko.
His remains arrived Ilaro, Ogun State, for burial on Monday, August 24, in accordance with Islamic rites.
Ogogo was one of the notable veterans of Yoruba-language cinema, with a career spanning more than four decades as an actor, filmmaker and screenwriter.
The July 26 exchange offers a poignant glimpse into his final weeks, when the ailing actor sought to reassure his daughter despite his own health battle.
