Abia Gov Mourns Passing of Isuochi Monarch, Eze Ezekwesiri

The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of His Royal Majesty, Eze Godwin Irononso Ezekwesiri, the Ochi 1 of Isuochi Ancient Kingdom in Umunneochi Local Government Area.

In a heartfelt message shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, March 28, Governor Otti described the late monarch’s demise as a profound loss not only to his immediate community but to the entire Abia State.

“Eze Ezekwesiri was more than a royal father; he was a statesman whose wisdom, experience, and selfless leadership enriched generations,” the governor noted.

The revered traditional ruler, who reigned for over five decades, was praised for his dedication to peace, unity, and progressive leadership, which positively impacted his people and beyond.

Governor Otti emphasized that Eze Ezekwesiri’s passing comes at a time when the younger generation could have greatly benefited from his vast knowledge and guidance.

“On behalf of my family, the government, and the good people of Abia State, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Ezekwesiri family, the people of Umunneochi, and all who had the privilege of experiencing his impactful reign,” he stated.

The governor prayed for eternal rest for the late monarch‘s soul and for divine strength for his family and community to bear the immense loss.

The passing of Eze Godwin Ezekwesiri marks the end of an era in Isuochi’s rich traditional history, leaving behind a legacy of leadership and service that will be remembered for generations.
