A faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State has announced the suspension of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal.
The decision was disclosed on Monday, April 13, by the chairman of the faction in the state, Raji Sulaiman Zumo.
The move adds to the growing internal crisis within the ADC, as competing groups continue to lay claim to its leadership structure.

One of such factions, led by Nafiu Bala Gombe, has been contesting the position of national chairman, further deepening divisions within the ADC.
The leadership tussle has already drawn the attention of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which recently withdrew recognition of the party’s leadership under former Senate President, David Mark.
The latest suspension of Atiku and Lawal signals escalating tensions within the party as rival blocs continue to assert control at both state and national levels.
