A high-level delegation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) arrived in Kano State on Monday ahead of the expected defection of former Kano State Governor and 2023 NNPP presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
The delegation, led by ADC National Chairman and former Senate President David Mark, included former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, Senator Dino Melaye, and former APC National Chairman John Odigie-Oyegun.
On arrival at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, the delegation was received by Aminu Gwarzo, the immediate past Deputy Governor of Kano State.

Kwankwaso is set to formally join the ADC in the coming days, along with key associates including Gwarzo, Senator Rufa’i Hanga representing Kano Central, and NNPP Kano State Chairman Hashim Dungurawa.
The planned defection is seen as a significant political development that could reshape party alignments in Kano State ahead of future elections.
