The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has formally released the schedule for its nationwide congresses in preparation for the party’s National Convention, slated for Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
The party unveiled the timetable on Sunday, March 15, 2026, signaling a structured approach to internal governance and leadership renewal.
Prince Chinedu Idigo, National Organizing Secretary, and Bolaji Abdullahi, National Publicity Secretary, outlined that the process will commence with Polling Unit and Ward Congresses on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

Local Government Area Congresses will follow on Thursday, April 9, while State Congresses are scheduled for Saturday, April 11.
The congresses constitute a deliberate, constitutional exercise to refresh leadership across all tiers of the party, beginning at the grassroots level and culminating at the national stage.
Prospective candidates for vacant positions have been advised to obtain and submit their nomination or expression of interest forms via the party’s official website.
The ADC underscored that this meticulously staged sequence is designed to reinforce organizational cohesion, enhance internal democracy, and strategically position the party for forthcoming political contests, including the 2027 general elections.
