Agbedi, who represents the Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency of Bayelsa State, takes over the position as the opposition bloc seeks to strengthen its role in legislative engagements within the Green Chamber.
The Bayelsa lawmaker is regarded as a key figure within the PDP faction aligned with former Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Kabiru Turaki.
Also announced was Abdussamad Dasuki of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), representing Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency of Sokoto State, who was appointed Deputy Minority Leader.
