The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has decorated nine newly promoted officers of the state command, charging them to view their elevation as a renewed call to higher responsibility, discipline, and people-oriented policing.

The decoration ceremony took place on Saturday at the Police Command Headquarters in Awka during the maiden Commissioner of Police Conference for Strategic Officers. The event followed the approval and release of promotion results by the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Service Commission.

According to a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, CP Orutugu congratulated the officers on their well-earned promotions, describing the advancement as recognition of their dedication, professionalism, and exemplary service to the Nigeria Police Force.

The commissioner urged the newly promoted officers to uphold discipline, integrity, and strong leadership, stressing that promotion comes with increased responsibility and accountability. He further tasked all personnel to be proactive, responsive, courageous, and strictly guided by the provisions of the Nigeria Police Act, while shunning all forms of corruption in the discharge of their duties.
