The Anambra State Police Command has arrested three suspects for armed robbery and recovered a stolen tricycle in Awarasi Village, Uga, Aguata Local Government Area of the state.
Police spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, noting that the suspects were apprehended on Monday following a distress call.
According to him, the suspects attacked a commercial tricycle operator at Isuaniocha Bridge, Awka North LGA, and dispossessed him of his yellow tricycle with registration number NZM 92 YH.
“On September 21, 2025, at about 2:20 pm, the Command received a distress call on how a commercial tricycle operator was attacked at Isuaniocha Bridge by armed men who dispossessed him of his yellow tricycle,” Ikenga said.
He explained that operatives of the Special Anti-Cultism Squad quickly mobilised to the scene, rescued the victim, and rushed him to the hospital where he is responding to treatment.

Acting on technology-guided intelligence, the police traced the suspects to Awarasi Village, Uga, and recovered the stolen tricycle. Ikenga said the suspects attempted to flee on sighting the police but were given a hot chase and arrested.
The arrested suspects are identified as Kosisochukwu Nweke (26), Emmanuel Eze (24), and Osondu Ifeanyi (20).
“Efforts are ongoing to uncover more leads related to their criminal activities, while the suspects shall be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations,” the police spokesman added.
