The Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have arrested 56 suspects during coordinated raids on criminal hideouts across the territory.
According to a statement quoted by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, on Friday, the raids took place on Thursday night.
The statement also disclosed that the raids were carried out simultaneously by operatives from Kubwa, Nyanya, Maitama, Gwagwa, Dawaki, Gwarinpa, Asokoro, Karu, Jikwoyi, Mpape, Lokogoma, and Utako Divisions.
The exercise targeted black spots, uncompleted buildings and criminal hideouts within the divisions’ areas of responsibility.

Items recovered included dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and other illicit drugs.
“The suspects are currently undergoing screening and interrogation at the respective divisions, and those found culpable will be charged to court, ” the statement added.
Reports indicate that the Federal Capital Territory has remained calm and peaceful, with the police command vowing to maintain its clampdown on criminal elements across the territory.
