The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has issued a stern warning to residents, urging them to desist from giving money or any form of inducement to police officers while on duty.
In a public notice shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Sunday, September 7, 2025, the Command emphasized that such actions are illegal and compromise the credibility of policing in Abuja.
“It is unlawful to give our officers money or any form of inducement while they are performing their duty. Allow them to discharge their responsibilities diligently, without interference,” the statement read.
The Command reassured residents of its commitment to professionalism, stressing that the Nigeria Police Force remains dedicated to serving with honesty, integrity, and transparency.

Citizens were also encouraged to play their part in building a safer community by cooperating with law enforcement.
