APC Elects New State Executives In Imo, Katsina

 

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo and Katsina states has elected new party executives following state congresses held on Tuesday.

In Imo State, Chief Austin Onyedebelu was elected State Chairman, while Onyekachi Ibezim became State Secretary.

Both candidates emerged unopposed as consensus nominees during the congress held at Ndubuisi Kanu Square, Owerri.

Onyedebelu, from the Orlu zone and former Managing Director of the Imo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (ISOPADEC), pledged to build on the successes of his predecessor, Dr MacDonald Ebere, unite the party, and lead it to success in upcoming elections.

Ebere thanked delegates for their support and pledged continued service to the party. Governor Hope Uzodimma attended the congress along with other dignitaries.

Meanwhile, the APC in Katsina State also conducted its state congress on Tuesday, resulting in the election of new officials and the re-election of some returning members.

The consensus-based exercise produced Bashir Gambo Saulawa as State Chairman, Bala Abu Musawa as Deputy Chairman, and Adnan Nahabu as Secretary.

At the zonal level, elected officials include Samaila Garba (Funtua Zone), Yahaya Idris (Katsina Zone), and Musa Maikudi (Daura Zone) as Zonal Vice Chairmen. Newly elected zonal youth leaders are Alti Yahaya Mati (Funtua), Aliyu Aliyu Marafa (Daura), and Samaila Usman (Katsina). Zonal women leaders include Saratu Ibrahim ÆŠanja (Funtua), Ladidi Umar Gwalele (Katsina), and Rashida Abdulkarim (Daura).

Other key officials elected in Katsina include Hassan Shuaibu Kawuri (Treasurer), Faruk Tsiga (Financial Secretary), Ahmad Hassan Mashi (Organising Secretary), Mamman Yaro Batsari (Auditor), and Ali Sani Iliyasu Runka (Legal Adviser).

Party stakeholders described both congresses as peaceful and orderly, expressing optimism that the newly elected executives would strengthen party unity and position the APC for future political engagements.

The consensus-based approach underscores the party’s efforts to maintain cohesion and internal stability at the state level.
