The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on Monday, the 23rd of February, 2026, joined the Chairman of the APC National Campaign Council and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, to formally welcome the newly elected chairmen of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Councils.
The reception followed the conclusion of the council polls, which saw the APC secure victory in five out of the six area councils, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) clinched one seat. The African Democratic Congress (ADC), which serves as a platform for a coalition of opposition figures, did not record any win in the exercise.
According to the results, the APC emerged victorious in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Abaji, Kuje, Bwari and Kwali.

In a statement shared via its official X account on Monday, the 23rd of February, the party disclosed that the newly elected chairmen were received by senior party leaders, including members of its National Working Committee (NWC).
