Bashir Ahmad, who once served as media aide to former President Muhammadu Buhari, has criticised the United States over its recent actions in Venezuela, calling the move “a staggering hypocrisy.”
Ahmad shared his thoughts on Saturday, the 3rd of January, 2026, through his verified X handle in response to reports that former US President Donald Trump announced the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife.
The United States also later revealed that Maduro faces drugs and terrorism charge

Reacting to the development, Ahmad wrote, “When Russia attacked Ukraine, it was rightly called a crime, now the United States attacks Venezuela and suddenly it’s described as ‘liberating the people.’ What a staggering hypocrisy!”
