Tamunosoye Karibi-George has been crowned Miss World Nigeria 2026 after defeating 19 other finalists at the grand finale held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The 26-year-old, who represented Bayelsa State and hails from Rivers State, emerged winner at the competition themed “Pride, Power and Purpose.”
She stood out across judging criteria including advocacy, intelligence, leadership, and stage performance, in line with the Miss World “Beauty With a Purpose” framework.
A key highlight of her campaign was her project Beyond Labels, focused on inclusion and empowerment for children with special needs.

Organised by the Silverbird Group, the pageant featured 20 contestants who went through interviews, grooming sessions, and community-based assessments ahead of the finale.
Silverbird Group founder and former senator, Ben Murray-Bruce, praised Karibi-George after her win, describing her as a purpose-driven advocate and urging public support as she prepares for the global stage.
She succeeds Joy Mojisola Raimi, Miss World Nigeria 2025, who reached the Top 20 and ranked among the Top Five African contestants at the 72nd Miss World pageant in Hyderabad, India.
Karibi-George will represent Nigeria at the 73rd Miss World Festival scheduled for August 9 to September 5, 2026, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Miss World Nigeria selects the country’s representative for the global Miss World competition, which places emphasis on beauty, advocacy, and humanitarian impact.
