Nigerian media personality and entrepreneur Natacha Akide, popularly known as Symply Tacha, has announced plans to attempt a Guinness World Record by completing 150 cosmetic makeovers within 24 hours.
Tacha revealed her plan in a video shared on her social media accounts on Friday, September 19, 2025, where she outlined details of the attempt and expressed confidence in setting a new global record.
The challenge will headline the inaugural Tacha Beauty Festival, scheduled to run from Friday, October 10 to Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the John Randle Centre for Yorùbá Culture and History in Lagos.
According to the organisers, the three-day festival will feature masterclasses, exhibitions, workshops, and networking opportunities across makeup, skincare, hair, fashion, and wellness.
Tacha explained that beyond the record attempt, the event aims to celebrate creativity, empower young professionals, and showcase Nigeria’s beauty industry on the global stage.

“The festival is more than a record attempt. It is a platform to showcase beauty, culture, and commerce while uniting people through shared experiences,” she said in the video announcement.
If successful, Tacha will surpass the current Guinness World Record of 111 makeovers in 24 hours, which is held by Mary Yongai of Sierra Leone.
Industry stakeholders say the festival underscores the rapid expansion of Nigeria’s beauty sector, positioning it as a driver of economic growth and international recognition.
