Ghana’s football authorities have parted ways with head coach Otto Addo with immediate effect following a string of disappointing results, bringing an abrupt end to his tenure in charge of the senior national team.
The decision comes amid mounting pressure after the Black Stars endured a poor run of form despite already securing qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana are currently winless in their last four international matches, a streak that has raised serious concerns about the team’s competitiveness ahead of the global tournament.
During that run, the West African side suffered a 2-1 defeat to Germany, followed by a heavy 5-1 loss against Austria.

The struggles continued with a narrow 1-0 defeat to South Korea before a 2-0 loss to Japan further deepened the crisis.
The Ghana Football Association is yet to announce a replacement, but attention is expected to turn quickly toward appointing a new manager capable of stabilizing the squad and restoring confidence ahead of upcoming international fixtures.
Addo, who previously guided Ghana through key qualification campaigns, leaves with his reputation under scrutiny as the Black Stars look to regroup and rebuild momentum on the road to the World Cup.
