Veteran entertainer and activist, Charly Boy, has expressed deep concern over what he perceives as growing tensions capable of plunging Nigeria into another major national crisis. The activist shared his worries on Wednesday through a post on his X handle, drawing from his traumatic memories of the civil war.
Charly Boy, popularly known as “Area Fada,” said he has been unsettled by signs he believes point to instability, noting that the horrors of the 1967–1970 civil war still haunt him. According to him, living through the conflict as a young person left him scarred, with daily fear of death becoming a defining memory of his youth.
He lamented that current national challenges appear to mirror the uncertainty of that era, prompting his renewed fears. However, he expressed hope that, despite the turbulence, Nigeria can still evolve into the nation its citizens have long desired.
