Chiefs Reignite Pursuit Of Super Eagles Shot-Stopper Stanley Nwabali

South African giants Kaizer Chiefs have revived their interest in Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali as the club intensifies efforts to bolster its squad.

Nwabali is currently without a club after parting ways with Chippa United last month, making him an attractive free-agent option ahead of the next transfer window.

Reports from Afrik-Foot indicate that the IGlamour Boys are in the market for a dependable shot-stopper following appendix surgery suffered by their first-choice goalkeeper, Brandon Petersen.

The development has forced the Soweto-based outfit to reassess its goalkeeping options.

The 29-year-old Nigerian international had earlier been linked with a move to Naturena after his standout performances for the Super Eagles at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, where he emerged as one of the tournament’s most consistent performers.

Widely respected within South Africa’s top flight for his commanding presence and sharp reflexes, Nwabali made 66 league appearances during his stint with Chippa United, earning plaudits for his consistency between the sticks.

With Chiefs seeking stability in goal and Nwabali eager to secure his next challenge, the coming weeks could prove decisive in determining whether the long-rumoured move finally materialises.
