Dangote Industries Limited has raised fresh concerns over a surge in impersonation and fraudulent schemes by individuals falsely claiming to represent the company, its executives, and members of the Dangote family.
In a statement posted Tuesday on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, the company warned that impostors are using fake investment opportunities, business proposals, charity solicitations, and employment promises to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
“Dangote Industries Limited has become aware of increasing cases of impersonation and fraudulent activities carried out by individuals falsely claiming to represent the company, its leadership, and members of the Dangote family,” the statement read.
The company stressed that neither its Group President, Aliko Dangote, nor any of its executives or family members solicit funds, contracts, investments, or personal information through social media platforms.
It specifically named Fatima Aliko Dangote, Mariya Aliko Dangote, and Halima Aliko Dangote, clarifying that they do not operate Facebook or TikTok accounts.
“For the avoidance of doubt, neither Dangote Industries Limited, nor its Group President, nor any executive, nor members of the Dangote family solicit funds, investments, contracts, or personal information from individuals via WhatsApp, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, or any other social media platform,” the statement emphasised.
The company further reiterated that its executives do not initiate direct contact with private individuals through social media for financial transactions, business deals, or personal requests under any circumstances.
Members of the public were advised to disregard unsolicited messages, calls, or online accounts claiming affiliation with the conglomerate.

Dangote Industries noted that all official communications are disseminated strictly through verified corporate channels and recognised media platforms.
For many Nigerians seeking employment or investment opportunities, the warning serves as a sobering reminder of the growing sophistication of online scams.
Fraudsters often exploit trusted brand names to build credibility and lure victims into financial traps.
Dangote Industries assured that it is collaborating with relevant security and law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute those responsible for the schemes.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to protecting its brand integrity and safeguarding the public.
It concluded by urging anyone who receives suspicious communications purportedly linked to the company or its leadership to report the incidents promptly to the appropriate authorities.
