Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, has formally received the report of the Inter-Ministerial Committee set up to probe certificate racketeering at Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, as well as the suspension of staff linked to the scandal.
The committee, which began its assignment on the 25th of March, 2025, presented its findings on Wednesday, the 3rd of September, 2025, in Asaba.
During the presentation, Onyeme commended the members for the quality of their work and pledged that government would act on their recommendations.
He remarked, “Your report is very clear and straightforward, especially as it concerns the allegations of certificate racketeering. Thank you, we will do an executive summary to His Excellency, the Governor for further actions based on your recommendations.”

The committee’s chairman, Sir Christopher Osakwe, handed over the document in the presence of senior officials, including the Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Tonukari Johnbull. He explained that the report captured the committee’s findings on the matter and reflected the scope of their assignment.
According to him, “The committee’s investigation focused on three key areas: conducting an in-depth investigation into the certificate racketeering allegations, reviewing the process leading to staff suspension, and making recommendations to ensure institutional integrity and advise on disciplinary actions.”
