Delta NMA Confirms Blessing CEO’s Cancer Claim Is False

The Nigerian Medical Association’s Delta State chapter has declared that the breast cancer medical report being circulated by social media personality Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, is not authentic and did not originate from her.

In a statement made public on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, the association said its investigation showed that the histology report being widely shared was originally issued to another patient, identified as Deborah Mbara, at Xinus Medical Diagnostics in Asaba, Delta State, on May 9, 2025.

There is no record linking the report to Okoro, and the version she shared appears to be an altered copy of the original.

Okoro had earlier in 2026 announced that she was battling breast cancer and appealed for financial support, a claim that drew widespread sympathy and reportedly generated significant donations.

Questions about the authenticity of the medical document prompted further scrutiny and the NMA’s intervention.

The NMA warned that falsifying medical documents undermines public trust in the healthcare system and the integrity of medical professionals.

It urged relevant authorities to investigate the matter and take appropriate action where necessary.

The patient whose report was allegedly misused has also raised concerns over the alleged misuse of her medical records.

Okoro has acknowledged receiving financial support but maintains that her actions were driven by personal health concerns, a stance that continues to generate debate.

The association advised Nigerians to exercise caution in responding to medical appeals on social media, emphasizing that sensitive health claims should be verified through credible channels to prevent exploitation and protect public confidence in medical reporting.
