Dorayi Tragedy: Barau Hails Police, Calls For Justice For Murdered Family

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, has commended the Kano State Police Command for arresting three suspects in connection with the murder of a housewife and her six children in Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters of the Kano metropolis.

In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Barau described the arrests as soothing and called for a thorough investigation and speedy prosecution of the suspects.

The senator said the police had taken the first crucial step and urged the command to ensure that the suspects are brought to justice without delay.

“I commend the command for its swiftness. This is the first leg; the police should conduct a thorough investigation and ensure a speedy trial so that these killers are prosecuted and brought to book. They must face the full wrath of the law,” Barau said.

He added that he would personally follow the case to its logical conclusion, describing the killing of the children and their mother as barbaric and beyond comprehension.

“I have been traumatised, devastated and overwhelmed by the gruesome murder of these innocent children and their mother,” he stated.

Barau also prayed for the victims, asking Almighty Allah to grant them Aljannatul Firdaus and to give the husband and father of the children, Haruna Bashir, the strength to bear the loss.
