Edo Queens have emerged champions of the 2025/26 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership after holding Bayelsa Queens to a goalless draw in the final round of the Super Six playoffs on Sunday.
The decisive encounter was played at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, with the result proving sufficient for Edo Queens to secure the league crown.
Heading into the final fixture, coach Moses Aduku’s side sat atop the standings with nine points and required only a draw to seal the title.
They successfully achieved that target to claim their second NWFL championship in three seasons.
The title-winning campaign further underlined Edo Queens’ status as one of the dominant forces in Nigerian women’s football, with the Benin City-based side displaying consistency throughout the Super Six tournament.

The triumph marks another major achievement for Moses Aduku and his squad, who will now turn their attention to representing Nigeria in continental competitions following their successful domestic campaign.
