The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the death of a 45-year-old electrician who was electrocuted while attempting to reconnect power lines in the Shasha area of Lagos.
Police spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed the incident in a statement issued on Sunday, noting that the tragedy occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 10.
“The electrician lost his life while reconnecting electricity cables to an electric pole at Shasha,” Hundeyin said.
According to the statement, police detectives were immediately dispatched to the scene following a distress report.

The victim was rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead by doctors on duty.
Hundeyin added that investigations into the incident have commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding the mishap.
