Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central, has joined Nigerians in celebrating fathers, describing them as quiet but essential pillars of family life and national development.
In a Father’s Day message issued on Sunday in Abuja, the lawmaker paid tribute to fathers and father figures across the country, commending their sacrifices, resilience, and unwavering commitment to family responsibilities.
She noted that despite the heavy demands placed on them, many fathers continue to serve as providers, protectors, mentors, and guiding voices within their households, often without receiving due recognition.

Against the backdrop of economic hardship affecting many families in Nigeria, the senator said fathers remain central to maintaining stability within homes and communities through their daily sacrifices and leadership roles.
She said, “On this special Father’s Day, I celebrate all fathers and father figures whose steadfast commitment, love, and sacrifices continue to strengthen our families and communities.

According to her, the influence of fathers extends beyond the household, as their guidance helps mould character, instil discipline, and inspire hope among young people.
“A father’s wisdom, discipline and example leave a lasting impact on the lives of children. Through their sacrifices and guidance, fathers nurture dreams, build character, and inspire hope.
Their influence extends beyond the home and contributes significantly to the moral fabric of our society,” she said.
She urged fathers to remain steadfast in fulfilling their responsibilities despite prevailing economic and social challenges, encouraging them to continue providing strong leadership within their families and communities.
