On Friday August 1, 2025, in a major step toward improving youth welfare, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved a new ₦30,000 monthly stipend for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in Adamawa State.
The announcement was made on Friday during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2025 Batch B Stream 1 corps members at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Damare, Girei Local Government Area. Governor Fintiri, who personally attended the event dressed in full NYSC attire, praised the patriotism and resilience of Nigerian youths.
“This increase is part of our commitment to ensuring that corps members posted to Adamawa State are not only safe but supported in a meaningful and dignified way,” the governor said.
Fintiri also disclosed that his administration had concluded plans to construct a new, modern orientation camp to replace the current temporary facility. He directed corps members with backgrounds in civil engineering, architecture, and quantity surveying to actively participate in the project’s supervision as part of their service year.
The latest increment represents a significant jump from the previous ₦20,000 monthly allowance introduced in late 2024, which itself followed an earlier ₦10,000 package approved in 2023. With the new figure, Adamawa State now ranks among the most supportive states in terms of corps member welfare.

NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Caroline Osoro, commended the governor for the gesture, describing it as timely and highly motivating. She also lauded the discipline and enthusiasm displayed by the newly deployed corps members.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Youth and Chairman of the NYSC Governing Board in the state, Barr. Wali Yakubu, urged the corps members to make the most of their time in Adamawa by engaging in personal development and contributing to the growth of their host communities.
The orientation exercise will run for three weeks, after which corps members will be deployed across the state’s key sectors—education, healthcare, agriculture, and community development.
