A tragic road accident along the Damaturu–Maiduguri highway has taken the lives of five young people from the same family.
First Daily correspondent learnt that the victims are all employees of the College of Administration, Management and Technology (CAMTECH) in Potiskum, Yobe State.
It was gathered that the deceased were members of the Zayi family.
In a statement by the Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni, which was made available to journalists by his Media Aide on Thursday, described the incident as “terrifying, sad, and devastating”.
“This is a sad, very unfortunate and a trying moment for the family and the entire state,” he said.

The Governor prayed for the souls of the departed and wished the injured a speedy recovery. Five people were injured in the crash.
Similarly, Senator representing Yobe East Senatorial District, Musa Mustapha, has commiserated with the Zayi family and CAMTECH Potiskum over the tragic incident.
“On behalf of the good people of Yobe East Senatorial District, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the Zayi family and the management and staff of College of Administration, Management and Technology (CAMTECH) Potiskum.
While praying for Allah’s forgiveness to the departed ones, I equally pray for the speedy recovery of the five injured ones”, Sen. Mustapha said.
