Fresh Wings: NAF Commissions 275 Officers into Service

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Saturday, September 27, 2025, formally commissioned 275 new officers from the Nigerian Defence Academy, describing the development as a major boost to the Service’s capacity.

In a statement, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, congratulated the officers on the successful completion of their training and urged them to remain steadfast in their commitment to national defence.

He noted that the new officers, drawn from various professional backgrounds, are joining at a crucial time when the Air Force is engaged in counter-insurgency operations and other security challenges across the country.

According to him, their commissioning not only strengthens manpower but also underscores the Service’s drive for innovation, precision, and professionalism in safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty.

Charging them to embody the NAF’s core values of “Willing, Able, Ready,” Abubakar stressed that their dedication would be critical in projecting airpower, supporting civil authorities, and protecting lives and property.

He further encouraged the officers to embrace excellence, integrity, and selfless service, assuring that the Air Force would provide an enabling environment for their growth and effectiveness.

The commissioning, Abubakar said, reflects NAF’s continuing efforts to build a force that is not only combat-ready but also citizen-focused, capable of responding to evolving threats to national security.
