Gov Makinde Reshuffles Cabinet, Names New SSG, Others

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has carried out a cabinet reshuffle, announcing changes to key positions in his administration on Monday, January 5.

The development was confirmed in a statement released in Ibadan by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju.

According to the statement, the governor removed the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Olanike Adeyemo, from office with immediate effect.

Announcing her replacement, Olanrewaju said, “Prof Musibau Babatunde has been appointed as the new Secretary to the State Government.”

The statement also disclosed a redeployment within the cabinet.

Olanrewaju said, “Barrister Temilolu Ashamu has been moved from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.”

As part of the reshuffle, the governor named his Senior Special Assistant on Public Works, Ademola Aderinto, as a commissioner designate.

The statement noted that Aderinto will be forwarded to the Oyo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

Further appointments were also announced in the statement.

Olanrewaju said Abiodun Adedoja has been appointed as Special Adviser on Energy Security.

He also announced Kolawole Elijah Akanmu as Senior Special Assistant on Budget and Economic Planning.
