Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mbah announced his decision on Tuesday during a press conference held at the Government House in Enugu, the state capital.

The governor said his move to the APC was driven by a desire to better serve the people of Enugu and align with the ruling party’s developmental vision for the state and the country.

“Today, after a long period of reflection, we have decided to leave the PDP and join the APC,” Mbah declared.

He explained that his decision followed extensive consultations and careful consideration of the state’s long-term goals, noting that the APC offers a broader platform for collaboration and progress.

Mbah reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to policies that would accelerate economic growth, improve infrastructure, and enhance the welfare of Enugu residents.

More details are expected to emerge as the governor’s defection continues to generate political reactions across the state.
