Some members of the Enugu State Executive Council have publicly declared loyalty to Governor Peter Mbah ahead of his planned defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a video shared on Monday by the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Governor, Dan Nwomeh, on X (formerly Twitter), the cabinet members were seen expressing support for Mbah’s anticipated move to the ruling party.
Among those featured in the clip were the Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Lawrence Ezeh; the Chairman of the Science, Technical, and Vocational Schools Management Board, Dr. Amaka S. Ngene; and the Commissioner for Labour and Employment, Dr. Felix Nnamani.
Accompanying the video, Nwomeh wrote, “Government House has realigned and connected to the centre. APCeee! Progress! Tomorrow is here!”
An APC flag was also sighted flying at the Enugu State Government House, signalling the governor’s imminent defection.
Confirming the development, the APC Caretaker Chairman in Enugu State, Dr. Ben Nwoye, said Governor Mbah would officially join the APC on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in Enugu, alongside several lawmakers and key political figures.

Nwoye made the disclosure while addressing journalists after his swearing-in at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja on Friday.
APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and Deputy National Chairman (South), Emma Eneukwu, also confirmed the planned defection, describing it as part of a strategic realignment to strengthen the party’s presence in the South-East.
It was earlier reported that the APC dissolved its Enugu State Executive Committee to pave the way for Mbah’s smooth entry into the party.
