Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has officially opened Irele Tower, located in the Lagos Free Zone along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, describing the project as a move toward a more modern and efficient Lagos.
The commissioning took place on Thursday, the 26th of March, 2026, with the governor highlighting the facility’s role in promoting sustainability and accommodating changing work patterns.
In a statement, Sanwo-Olu said the building meets international environmental standards, featuring energy-efficient systems, water conservation measures, and enhanced indoor conditions.
“Today, I commissioned Irele Tower at the Lagos Free Zone along the Lekki-Epe Expressway,” he said.

The governor explained that the tower is EDGE-certified, designed to encourage environmentally friendly practices while offering a comfortable workspace. “Irele Tower is an EDGE-certified green building, designed with a focus on energy and water efficiency, as well as a healthier indoor environment,” the statement added.
Sanwo-Olu also emphasized the facility’s adaptability to modern work styles, noting that it provides shared spaces suitable for freelancers, consultants, and remote workers. “Beyond its sustainability, the facility offers shared workspaces that reflect how people work today. The space is designed to support your productivity if you are a freelancer, consultant, or working remotely,” he said.
The governor highlighted that such developments along the Lekki-Epe corridor reflect the ongoing growth and transformation in that part of the state. “I am always pleased to see development taking shape in the Lekki-Epe corridor. It is another step forward in building a more efficient and modern Lagos that works better for everyone,” he said.
