Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced a new partnership aimed at transforming education in Lagos State through the integration of digital learning tools in public schools.
In a statement shared via his official X account on Monday, the governor revealed that the state government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Estar, a firm specialising in digital education solutions.
According to Sanwo-Olu, the collaboration will introduce modern digital learning platforms and infrastructure into public primary and secondary schools, equipping students with essential 21st-century skills.
He noted that the initiative will provide learners with curriculum-based tools designed to enhance critical thinking, communication, leadership, and decision-making abilities, alongside foundational knowledge in artificial intelligence.
“This partnership will give our students access to tools that support critical thinking, communication, decision-making, leadership, and AI skills,” the governor stated.

Beyond technology access, the programme will also focus on improving core academic competencies such as reading, comprehension, confidence, and classroom participation—areas often identified as challenges in public education systems.
Sanwo-Olu further emphasised that teacher training remains central to the success of the initiative. The state government, he said, is investing in equipping educators with the skills needed to effectively utilise digital tools and deliver more engaging, impactful lessons.
Education stakeholders have welcomed the move, describing it as a step toward aligning Lagos’ public education system with global standards and preparing students for a rapidly evolving digital economy.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts by the Lagos State Government to improve learning outcomes, modernise classrooms, and ensure that students are better prepared for future academic and career opportunities.
