The Kaduna State Roads Agency has commended Governor Uba Sani for sustained investments in road infrastructure following the completion and commissioning of a 35-kilometre asphalt road linking Gadan Gayan in Igabi Local Government Area to Kujama Junction in Chikun Local Government Area, via Gwaraji.
The Managing Director of the agency, Dr Abdullahi Baba-Ahmad, gave the commendation on Tuesday at the official commissioning ceremony, according to a statement released by the agency’s media team in Abuja. He described the project as a landmark achievement that would significantly enhance rural–urban connectivity and stimulate economic activities across the corridor.
The road, which includes a 130-metre, nine-span bridge, is expected to ease access for farmers, traders, and commuters while reducing travel time for communities that have long faced transportation challenges. Baba-Ahmad noted that the project aligns with the state government’s broader strategy to open up underserved areas and deepen economic inclusion.
“The completion of this road reflects the administration’s commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to all parts of the state,” he said, adding that the current administration has completed more than 1,300 kilometres of roads across Kaduna State, boosting commercial activities and improving productivity.
Governor Sani, speaking at the event, described the project as a fulfilment of his administration’s promise to place people at the centre of development. He explained that the road connects Gadan Gayan, Gwaraji, Wusar and Kujama Junction, cutting across Igabi, Kajuru and Chikun Local Government Areas, and directly serving over 76 rural and urban farming communities.

Anchored by a bridge across River Kaduna, the governor said the project represents the longest road constructed in the state in over two decades and was designed to serve as more than just infrastructure, but as a lifeline for economic growth, improved security, and better living standards.
By providing an alternative route that eases congestion around Kaduna metropolis and strengthens interconnectivity across the state’s senatorial zones, Sani said the road would reduce transportation costs while expanding access to markets, healthcare, education, and emergency services.
The project forms part of several ongoing road interventions under the Sani administration’s infrastructure renewal drive aimed at accelerating economic growth, enhancing security, and improving the quality of life for residents across Kaduna State.
