The Lagos State Government has sealed off I-Fitness Gym located at Jakande Roundabout in the Lekki Peninsula area of Eti-Osa over the alleged indiscriminate discharge of raw sewage into public drainage channels.
The enforcement action was carried out on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, by the Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO).
According to the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the facility was shut down after authorities discovered that raw sewage was allegedly being discharged into public drains through a pipe, causing environmental pollution, public nuisance and potential health risks to residents.

Wahab disclosed the development in a post on his X account, stating that the violation contravened the state’s environmental and wastewater management regulations.
The state government reiterated the importance of proper wastewater disposal and urged residents, businesses and organisations to comply with environmental laws designed to protect public health and the environment.
It warned that individuals or organisations found violating environmental regulations would face appropriate sanctions, including possible prosecution, in line with existing laws.
The government also reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing environmental standards across the state to ensure a cleaner, safer and heading thier Lagos.
