Concern has mounted in Enugu State following the disappearance of Onyenwuzor Victor Tochukwu, a student of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, who has been missing since Tuesday, July 22, 2025.
Tochukwu, a native of Nsukwu Abatete in Anambra State, was last seen at his lodge in Ugwuaji, where he resides as a student.
According to his roommate, the incident occurred around 6:50 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. when they were preparing to leave for school.
Witnesses reported that uniformed men in red jackets, allegedly identified as members of an anti-cult squad, appeared near the lodge and began shooting sporadically. The chaos forced students and residents to flee for safety. When calm was restored, Tochukwu was unaccounted for and has not been seen since.

Family, friends, and fellow students have since raised alarm over his whereabouts. Efforts to trace him through repeated visits to police stations and anti-cult offices have so far yielded no results.
A public appeal has been launched, urging anyone with information about Tochukwu’s whereabouts to immediately contact the nearest police station or reach out to student leaders at IMT Enugu.
The disappearance has sparked growing concern among students and residents, who are calling for urgent intervention by security agencies to ensure his safe return.
