President Bola Tinubu on Sunday reaffirmed his administration’s determination to end insecurity across the country, declaring that every Nigerian has the right to live without fear.

Tinubu, who cancelled his scheduled trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to personally oversee national security operations following recent abductions, made the remarks in a statement posted on his official X handle.

“Let me be clear: I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety — and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people,” the President said.

He announced that all 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State, had been rescued, adding that 51 students earlier kidnapped from a Catholic school in Niger State had also regained their freedom.

The President said he had been receiving continuous updates from the frontline and monitoring security developments nationwide “closely and consistently.”

Tinubu’s comments come amid growing public pressure for stronger and faster government action to tackle increasing cases of kidnappings and violent attacks across several states.
