Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, on Sunday, July 19, 2026, expressed confidence that the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) would win the 2027 presidential election if the contest is conducted in a free, fair and credible manner.
Fayose made the assertion in a post on his Facebook page while reacting to comments by Lere Olayinka, media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on his political influence in Ekiti State.
The former governor’s younger brother dismissed claims questioning his electoral relevance, arguing that political strength should be judged through a transparent electoral process that reflects the choice of voters.
He alleged that practices such as vote-buying and the arrest of political supporters ahead of elections had affected the credibility of previous contests.

Fayose claimed that voters were offered up to ₦50,000 during the Ekiti governorship election and that some of his supporters were detained before the poll.
He maintained that the NDC would defeat its rivals if Nigerians are allowed to freely determine the outcome of elections without interference.
Fayose said the party would win “before 12 noon” in a free and fair election, alleging that the major advantage of some political opponents was their ability to manipulate the electoral process.
His comments come as political activities continue to build ahead of the 2027 general election, with politicians and parties intensifying debates over electoral integrity, voter confidence and democratic accountability.
